Virtual Services

To attend a Sunday service on line, send an email to worship@uufn.org  by Saturday, tell us who you are and we'll send you a Zoom link.

The Zoom room opens at 10:00 for our Bistro --  coffee (BYO) and conversation.

If you do not attend the Bistro, please Zoom into the service a few minutes ahead of the 10:30 starting time, as this keeps disruption to a minimum as the service proceeds.

There will be breakout rooms for coffee (BYO) and conversation after the service. Newcomers are welcome to join the zoom room they're invited to or to remain in the main zoom room. Members of the Newcomers & Membership Team will be in the main zoom room to answer any questions you might have.

We look forward to meeting you!

In-Person Services

Come As You Are

Dress is casual. Jeans are fine. Some dress more formally. In the summer, shorts are often worn.

Our “come as you are” atmosphere extends beyond clothing. You are welcome whatever your prior religious affiliation, if any.

Parking

Parking is available in the church lot and on Willa Road.

We have accessible spaces near the main entrance, and a ramp is available at the front entrance.

When You Arrive

Greeters will welcome you as you enter the building.

Most of our members wear name tags. We have temporary name tags available for you to use if you wish.

The greeters will be glad to help you find your way around the building.

Childcare and Religious Education for Children

During the worship service we provide nursery childcare and religious education classes for children and teens.

Children may also attend the service with their family.

The Worship Service

As you enter our worship space, pick up an order of service.

Sit wherever you are comfortable.

Our service begins at 10:30 a.m. and lasts about an hour. While the format varies from week to week, there are commonalities in all services.

The service generally begins with the sounding of a gong, followed by words of welcome and brief announcements.

The service includes the lighting of a chalice (the primary symbol of Unitarian Universalism) accompanied by readings drawing from a wide range of religious and humanist sources.

The rainbow ribbon around our Chalice is a symbol of us being a Welcoming Congregation, which is active for the purpose of social justice issues regarding lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning people.

Music is an important part of our services, as well – singing, choir anthems, and performances by guest musicians, and popular recorded music.

Most weeks, some people will share their joys and concerns. You are also welcome to do so. This is a time of meditation and prayer.

Each service includes a sermon or reflection by a minister, a member of the congregation, or a guest speaker.

Although an offering is collected during the service, a financial contribution is not expected from our visitors. Your donation is also appreciated; however, as a newcomer, your gift to us is your presence. Each month, one-half of contributions collected during service is donated to a local charity chosen by our Social Justice Team.

You can watch videos of some of our previous services on our Past Worship Services Media page or our YouTube channel.

After the Service

Please join us for coffee, tea and conversation.

You may stop by our Newcomer’s Table during coffee hour. A member will be happy to provide you with more information about Unitarian Universalism and our Fellowship.

Newcomer?

We have more information for newcomers and first time visitors on our First Time Visitors page.

We look forward to your visit!
